A niche social media platform targets a select group of people, typically having the same specific interest. This could be those who love a specific sport, hobby, or lifestyle. There are many options out there and they are constantly expanding.

Joining one of these social media platforms will:

1. Allow you to connect with others who share a common interest

Sure, you can find people with common interests on social media sites like Instagram, Facebook or Twitter, but with a niche platform you can easily share, discuss, and collaborate on ideas and/or content that is geared toward a specific niche. Instead of searching through hashtags or locations, you can simply have easy access to a community of people who share one or more of the same passions you do.

2. Enable you to grow your niche content and share it with people you know will love it

Since you’re surrounded by those who you know will appreciate and engage with your content, it leaves little room for error.

For example, let’s say you’re interested in being a part of a community of plant lovers. This will allow you to share content of your blooming buds, get caretaking tips, and simply talk about your love for caring for plants. This may be more difficult to come across on a general social media platform, but with a niche platform, your surrounding community will be your #1 supporting audience.

3. Be inspired by others in your “local” community.

I think that one of the greatest advantages is being inspired by this niche community. People who typically share the same interest or likeness want to collaborate with others in order to double their results. Being a part of a community of people who share a specific interest will bring you collaboration and inspiration.

If you’re looking to grow in these areas but don’t know where to start, here is a list that shares and explains the uses of more than 60 niche social sites to explore.

Don’t be afraid to try out a few sites based on your comfort level and interest! Get to know new people and start exploring, creating, and growing more within your specific niche.
